From a thread on rec.food.cooking.

There _might_ have been two people using that screen name.

According to his site, he hangs out in several photography newsgroups.
Since the link you give is to a photography website, it may be true and
after reading some of the responses to the message, it looks like this
is the case. I hope not. He and I were usenet friends when he used to
hang out in this group.

I emailed MZ for clarification.

According to his google groups profile, his last post was six days ago
in news.software.readers about Gravity. Nothing else since anywhere
on Usenet.

Even more ominous is this thread on Jan 28-29:

Doesn't look good.

Sadly, it's true...

from a digital photography group. (there are many replies see here if
you wish to read about him) I remember him fondly from his many

It is with a heavy heart that I tell you that Blinky the Shark, aka
Lee Rizor, my best friend and brother for the last 15 years, has
passed away. He passed in his sleep last night after having been
increasingly ill for a couple of weeks. There is no news yet on any

I already mentioned this on news.software.readers: someone should save
his website(s) before it is taken down.
